Choosing Gastric Band Surgery

I WILL BE 60 IN SEPTEMBER (BUT FEEL MUCH YOUNGER) AS I STELL HAVE 2 OF MY CHILDREN AT HOME AND LOOK AFTER MY GRANDSON. LIKE MANY I HAVE TRIED ALL DIET REGIMES, HYPNOTHERAPY,ACUPUNCTURE ETC AND NOW FEEL THAT A GASTRIC BAND IS THE ONLY THING TO STOP MY COMPULSIVE EATING. AWAITING APP. AT OBESITY CLINIC, ANY ADVICE?

Go to a NIOPPS accredited practitioner or registered clinic, first choice. if they aren't either ask about their actual results, not published by someone else somewhere else, their clinic, their team. Don't be fobbed off with "very good" or a case or 2, how many? You need average excess weight loss, nothing else shows their success like this. If you are happy with that, then ask for clinical adjustments not radiological as first choice. Where will your post op treatment be done, if not close to you, look for a clinic near to you as the longer this goes on the more difficult it will become to be motivated to travel long distances for appointments. Remember this is potentially for life not jus a year or 2. If you are not happy with any of this look for another provider who does meet all the criteria. Good luck, keep us informed of your progress.
